Intermediate Level Students - Adults
Intermediate level students can also have a large variety of English experience. Students of this level of English experience understand more advanced spoken and written language in many different social and educational situations.Hey are also more likely to be able to produce better quality spoken and written English than students at a beginner level.
Intermediate students can range from students who have acquired a basic communicative repertoire in English, enabling them to participate in many class activities, to students who can communicate confidently and coherently about subject matter appropriate to their experiences and those around them.
Students of an intermediate level will have made progress with their oral communication and for the most part be able to communicate in both formal and informal situations (understanding the difference between both). Students at this level should begin to develop further understanding of grammar and language and the skills necessary to articulate this knowledge. Students should be able to pronounce more complex sentences as well as be able to clarify a word into a particular word class. Students should also be able to engage in different types of written and spoken language to develop their skills.
The activities below aim at expanding student's vocabulary and present strategies for intermediate level reading, writing and numeracy skills.
